GENERAL INFORMATION

JASCO is the trading name of the Jordanian-Saudi Company for the satellite transmission, a limited liability company, under the approval of the Council of Ministers and licensed Free Zone in Amman, in the Kingdom of Jordan.

Jasco's new media city, is located just outside the center of Amman and the construction of the facilities began 2008. Completed construction, it began the implementation of technical equipment, that with regard to the lighting system, was finalized during the summer of 2010. The work was entrusted to us thanks to the introduction and support of our representative in Jordan, the company AVC Al Waseet of Eng.

Ali Abu Kwaik. AVC has long been active in Amman in the distribution and system integration of high-end products for broadcasters. After the phase of technical-commercial agreement, prepared in every detail and with care by Ali Abu Kwaik, the final design was then followed up during the installation and testing by his son Tarek.

We thank them both for the expertise and the friendly hospitality during our surveys. For the part of the project concerning us, the complex includes three studios, all now completed, designed to support channels with exhaustive and modern infrastructure, able not only to transmit but also to produce and post-produce contents for its customers.

Description of the project

The complex includes three studios, respectively with areas of about 50, 60 and 150 square meters. Given the characteristics after a first survey, it was decided on a suspension structure with custom designed trusses. The trusses were in fact built with cable tray integrated directly on board of the aluminum profile.

The built-in cable tray hosts the outlets to power the lights. This resulted in a power distribution lean, clean and functional. The system is already prepared for its own expansion to double sockets and dimmer channels in each studio. Each studio is provided of DMX sockets, in order to may use the console from both the control room and the studio itself. All studios were equipped with cyclorama covering the whole perimeter and U shape chromakey backdrops.

The studios are conveniently located for control from a single dimmer room, where we installed 8 12x3kw dimmer racks. We installed 3 24/96 channels light consoles with memories, equal for all studios in order to ensure interchangeability.

The truss structures are self-supporting and they are equipped with Ianiro studio lights: the system is expandable. A note of thanks is also due to technical personnel on site provided by AVC who has shown himself competent and friendly, facilitating the team spirit and a successful installation.

General information

logoThe Jordanian-Saudi Company for Satellite Broadcasting (JASCO) – a media city based in Amman – has announced plans at CABSAT 2010 to double its present capacity from 18 to 36 channels. The facility opened on November 1 with 11 channels playing out initially and capacity for 18 in total. Now JASCO is in talks to expand this number.

“We will have capacity on Arabsat in the next three to four months which will add another 18 channels,” said Wajdi Alsharaiheh, technical team leader at JASCO. “We are also building some studios which will open in the next few months.

We can offer channels the full range of services including RF, muxing and graphics. We hope to find some new broadcasters during CABSAT as well as technical partners to help us throughout our expansion,” added Alsharaiheh.

JASCO currently has capacity on Nilesat broadcasting a number of channels including Al Athar and Nasem TV.
