London born Director of Photography,  Robin Lambert studied film and photographic technology before working for (amongst others) News Group newspapers, Pinewood Studios and Media Images as a lighting cameraman. Currently working as a freelance DoP, Robin is based in London, England and Mainz, Germany. Robin was one of the original founders of fotografics.org. 


After leaving film school he worked as a film camera assistant at Pinewood Studios, mainly on feature films before moving to television. He became a camera operator and then a Director of Photography in 1996 when he was accepted into the Society of Television Lighting Directors. Robin has worked as a lighting cameraman for:  BBC, CNN, Channel 4, ARD, ZDF, etc. etc. etc. Recent Features include: Crossfade (UK 2002) Post Mortem (D 2003) Schattenwelt (Shadow World D 2003) The Moonflower (D 2005) Worldwide Documentaries including: Russia, Sudan, Azerbaijan, Kosovo and most recently: Afghanistan.

Member of the Society of Television Lighting Directors he is currently a freelance Lighting Cameraman working mainly for German state television, NBC in America and the BBC in England.  As well as a working Director of Photography, Robin Lambert is a published author who also writes for various magazines, including "What Camcorder" "Camcorder User" and is well known for his  column in "Digital Video" amongst others.  He also holds seminars on lighting for Arri, Kino-Flo, Dedolight and Ianiro and is known and respected as one of the foremost location lighting cameramen specializing in low and  micro-budget productions.
